The NOLA Voice Talent Foundation was founded by voice-actor and coach Stephen James specifically to provide an affordable opportunities and resources for voice talent and performers in the New Orleans, Baton Rouge, and surrounding region; as well as to highlight and promote the group and its individual members as the NOLA Voice Talent Pool. NOLA Voice Talent also presents the annual (Christmas) New Orleans benefit radio-play "It's a Wonderful Life" to raise funds for the the non-profit organizations in the region; as well as providing a numer of programs to support the communinty.

Stephen James (full name Stephen James Smith) is a versatile voice-actor and writer originally from Birmingham, England, and now based in New Orleans, Louisiana. Born in 1955, Stephen has always had a flair for words and has enjoyed along career as writer, principally in marketing communications.. Stephen has run his own PR, marketing communications and business solutions consultancy sInce 1987 and, in 2002/3 he was a leading light in "The Talent Pool" in Las Vegas, as well as being an active member of the board of Media Guilds International. During this time, the highlightsof his voice-over activities are a 'behind the mic' performance as part of the Talent Pool at Mandalay Bay Hotel/Casino on the Las Vegas Strip, and a number of apearances on KLVX-TV Channel 10, presenting "An Evening of British Comedy". Stephen has also coached American actors on speaking "British English" and acted as a consultant to writers, providing advice and guidance on "British-English" usage, grammar, syntax, and dialect.
